Gimli, son of Glóin, is a proud member of the Dwarven race hailing from the Lonely Mountain, Erebor, which his father helped reclaim from the dragon Smaug. His heritage connects him deeply to the history and traditions of the Dwarves, as well as the alliance between Erebor and the Men of Dale. Initially wary of Elves due to longstanding tensions between their peoples, Gimli’s journey with the Fellowship transforms his perspective, particularly through his friendship with Legolas. This bond becomes symbolic of reconciliation between Elves and Dwarves, strengthening their unity against Sauron.
